This morning the AC worked normally but this evening, after being parked in the shade all day, it will only pump cold air from the defroster vents and nothing will come from the facia vents. This is a 93 Park Avenue and until today the AC has performed perfectly. Does anyone have an idea about the cause? Obviously there is some sort of directional door that isn't working but what could have caused it so suddenly? Thanks for any input!

Defrost is the default position. This usually indicates a vacuum leak. Edited by: MrBSS

Thanks MrBSS. Your post caused me to stop and remember that I had just replaced the spark plugs. I went out and raised the hood and quickly located a vacuum connection that had been disturbed. Problem solved!
