1990 Regal 3.8l Repair List
 

I have a laundry list of things I need to do on my Regal and I'm looking for a lil bit of help. For starters its a 1990 with the 3.8l, The motor and trans feels strong with about 186k on the clock. I have a problem with oil burning off the exhaust manifolds. It appears that it is just the valve cover gaskets. Does anyone know if I can tackle that job without having to unbolt the motor mounts and lifting the back of the engine out of the car? It looks like it'll be a challenge. Also I have a problem with the guy loosing power for a split second then going back to normal, now I don't think it is a miss fire. it doesn't sound like a miss and I just recently changed all the wires, plugs and coil packs.

When I had it at a mechanic a while back for a problem with the car not starting. He diagnosed it to be the Harmonic Balancer which one from the junkyard got the car running. as well he said he unplugged the TPI ignition system, so I have a constant engine light so I'm not sure if that is my loss of power issue or not. I hope someone can help Thanks in advance
