1969 rocker arm shaft assembly help

HI I have been fighting with this engine for about 2 years. Is there a difference between the 1969 and the 1970 skylark 350 assemblies ,and if so what is it? And how does a guy remove the end caps for rebuilding.
Thanks

Holy crap!!! It just came to me. Never mind I got it. I think. The 69s had spring type keepers with caps on the end of the shafts to keep the 2 end rockers from falling off the end of the shaft. I got a pair of new 1970 modle shafts from Year One which came with no caps or springs. But they have nylon buttons. Those caps may have caused some kind of debris or lubing issue, therefor the design is not easy to find any more. If I am wrong please correct me.http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Engines/1...Rebuild005.jpg
