Default '91 Park Ave. Intermittent Climate Control

I have a 1991 PA and the climate control is acting up.
Sometimes, I guess about 70% of the time, when I start the car (hot or cold), the climate control display does not illuminate, none of the buttons light up, when pushing each button, there is still one "beep" sound however. It seems that the "defrost fan" is on because there is air coming out of the vents near/below the windshield....and seems like dry compressed air.

After about 10 mins into the drive time, the display decides to come back on, display says "fan" and displays the last entered temperature setting....and about 90% of the time now, I have full control of the whole thing....it's acting normal again.

Correct me if wrong, but sounds like an intermittent circuitry problem of the climate control module itself. Any known fixes?

Checking to familiarize myself with the system. Don't want to offer off the cuff worthless suggestions.
