Hello all. My name is Kevin and this is my first post. I just bought a 1994 Buick Park Avenue with knowing these problems. When you put it in reverse, there is no movement at all, the engine just revs when you hit the gas. When you drive forward, it has all power until you hit 30mph then the engine just revs again. Overdrive doesnt work at all. I had to drive the car home in 3rd doing 30mph. Im not new to working on cars and I do have mechanical abilities, just dont know much about the 4T60E's. Fluid level is good and clean. Car has 140k on it. I dont think its a torque convertor problem because it wont move at all in reverse. Not sure about shift solenoids or maybe the bands. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I dropped the tranny pan today to see if anything was in the fluid. Yep....Metal and pieces of plastic. Anyone know how much work is involved in removing the tranny? I did a couple searches but didnt find anything.

Removing a tranny is never easy unless you have alot of experience with them then i wouldnt try. You could be getting yourself into more trouble than you think. If you have any hesitation towards doing it yourself than get a professional to do it. If you want it done properly and you are not familiar with it than dont do it yourself.
