I just bought this car and the cruise doesn't work. Any pointers on what to check before taking it to the dealer??

Several places.


Check fuses,check for vacuum leak, PCM, Cruise Servo,

Brake disengage vacuum release valve on the brake pedal sometimes leaks.
The PCM computer is the brain of cruise control.

Mine would work then randomly dis engage, sometimes quickly sometimes after miles. After replacing the servo from a junker with no help, I replaced the PCM computer and that was the fix. LeSaber Computer fit and worked in my Park AVe Ultra.. same Year..

In reading the owner's manual, the actual fuse block inside the car doesn't have a fuse for the cruise. Are there diagrams available for the maxi fuses under the hood? There is no label beneath the cover on mine.

Right.. not there.. Under the Instrument Console fuse is just a #10 Cruise indicator lamp... 15Amp.


That one is proubably working.. It supplies more lights too. .


#5 in 15Amp the relay center.... is Cruise.. It goes straight to the cruise switch and back to the PCM.. Proubably the main cruise fuse.. but near the PCM relay area. It's on the right side, back under the dash, near the right side near the PCM area.


Also I note on this 94' circuit wiring (should be similar) it didn't show a vacuum release.. just a cruise release switch on the brake pedal support.
