Hi.

I am looking at a used Park Avenue to purchase and I have a couple
questions becuase when testing it I found something that I dont know
how to use. And there is no owners manual to refer to.

I see there is a panel on the passenger door that says passenger
climate control, however its not lit and the buttons dont do
anything. How do you get this to work?

Also, does anyone know if this year is 3800 Series 1 or 2?

Does this one have heated seats? If it does, how do I find out?

overall, this car looks nice, rides nice and has 110,000 miles on
it. We are considering it mainly becuase of the 3800 (I have a 92
Buick Lesabre 172,000 and an 1990 Olds Delta 88 with 218,000) so
you can see my love for the engine!

Passenger climate control /lighting
</span>The dual climate control is turned on at the climate control head below the radio/tape player. The lighting, when its working, indicates temp selection.

Not sure here but I understand the lighting /control comes via the data line circuit from or through the radio.

Often an aftermarket or another radio/tape player has been installed not compatible with the car disabling the circuit.

SERIES II</span>
I believe the Series II came out later, "oficially" and would show its identy on the plastic intake manifold dress cover. You can get the VIN # and call a supportive dealer for research..

Heated seats</span>
Heated seats are switched on by a seat switch down on the door side of the bottom seat cushion towards the front. Try and look there for a switch. I understand it's an option and even Ultras may not have it installed on one or both seats.
Later they mounted the switches on the lower dash strip.

Hope this helps.
