Windshield Wiper part needed.

Hello. I have a 2002 Buick Century and I am having an issue with my windshield wipers. When I turn them off both wipers stand straight up and do not rest along the bottom of the windshield. The reason that it is doing this is because a tab that normally causes the wipers to go down has broken off. You can see a photo of the tab in the photo that I added. My mechanic seems to think that the part I need is called a "Wiper motor parking plate" but a search for that part on ebay is not producing any results. I am wondering if anybody here might know someone who is parting out a century that might be able to sell it to me or if you have a lead on where I can get this part.

Thanks in advance.

Believe me when I suggest your best bet is to just get a new wiper motor from someplace like NAPA or Dealership and just install it It is a SAFETY ITEM !.

The wiper motor is easy to replace and playing around looking for a part that you may have to return, is not the smartest way to go.
When you turn those wipers on , you expect them to work, so do it right and do it once.

There is nothing wrong with the wiper motor. The motor works as soon as it turns on. The intermittent speeds all work when I change speeds. There is a plate that the motor rests on top of. On this plate there is a small metal tab that tells the wipers to stay down when you shut them off. You can see the plate that I am talking about in the video. If I bought a brand new wiper motor and installed it I would still have the exact same problem because the new wiper motor would not have the tab that tells it to go back to its home position.

All wiper motors contain the necessary parts to function as required. there is no special addl part to determine where the wiper motor stops, it is all built into the motor assy.
When the power to the motor is turned off , there is a separate feed and circuit to place the motor in the park position.
If that is the original wiper motor, it's time to replace it . 20 years service is pretty good service,
