Let me start off by saying that I'm a Jeeper and am very firmiliar with auto-tech but not Buick's specifically.

I've got a '96 Century and it's got 45,000 miles on the stock 195/75R14's. The car sat in a driveway for 6 years so the tires are destroyed and I'm looking for some new ones that are a bit higher in performance than stock. But without breaking the bank and without changing wheels.

Also, I still want decent handling in the rain and snow because this is my sister's car and she can't drive my Jeep, lol.

I was thinking, I know a little extreme, but a 245/60R14 sounded pretty nice to me.

At what size will I run into rubbing issues? What do you all recomend as far as sizes go and any particular brands?? Thanx in advance

Nobody has any ideas what tires to run? I find that hard to believe.

Well, most of the people who own '96 Centuries aren't looking to make those kinds of modifications!

I would say that your selection IS too extreme for a car that your sisterhas to drive in snow. I would probably recommendjust one step lower aspect ratio (~ 205/70R14).

If you log on to the tirerack.com, I think you can find a lot of dimensional data, and maybe they will recommend an upgrade (if their database includes this vehicle). They also have good prices.

Just go with a 215/60R14
