Though there may be ways to increase the performance for this vehicle, you need to be careful with the OBD II. This system checks itself occasionally to be sure that its peroformance meets established parameters, including acceleration. Excessive acceleration may confuse the system into needless condemnation, setting bogus codes. That said, let's consider the possibilities. Starting with the exhaust, opening it up will help. This will include the replacement of the original restrictive convertor, and the use of mandrel bent pipes. A good exhaust shop will understand the reference to these components. The use of a pipe converting the single outlet to a dual outlet will allow the use of less restrictive mufflers, with minimal noise. You might check into the possibility of a replacement software program allowing the increased rate of timing advance, which will also help. Enriching the wide open throttle fuel mixture will also help. Be conservative, and make one change at a time. This will permit a monitoring of the results. You might also try shopping for fuel. That alone can make noticable differences in performance. This comes from one with experience. Ray

thanks for your comments ray. your responce, however, still hasn't answered my question. i know how to sup-up a car. open up the exhaust, whatever. i also understand your terminology (except for OBD II). What i need to know is....

Where can i find aftermarket performance exhaust parts?

Does anyone make headers, because i havn't found any?

Where can i find a chip?

The bumper only has a grove for single outlet exhaust, how have other people converted to dual exhaust?

Does anyone make an intake kit?

How much can you increase the horsepower from these changes.

These are the specific questions i would like answers to but i don't know if i can get them on this forum. please help if you can. thank you very much.

Since this engine is very similar to the turbo-charged 3.8, you might try looking in these sites. When going to duals with a V6, the system sounds a little funny. You might try seeking a muffler shop that will simply remove the muffler, and cat, replacing the cat with a high flow unit. This may add some unwanted noise, but adding a muffler is simple, and the power adding can benefit the driveability. There are sites on the internet for the turbo, that have other non turbo stuff as well. let me know... Ray
