I
bought a 1995 2.2L Buick Century qith 137k miles on it to drive back and forth to work cause my truck gets 12MPG two weeks ago. I drove it for a week. Go to change the oil, i checked the oil before i changed it. It was 2 quarts low. So i changed the oil and filter, i also added a can of engine restorer and a can of seafoam to the brakebooster line. Drove it for another week. Ran great. Well yesterday when i was driving to work (6 days since oil change) the car lost all power from the engine while driveing all of a suddend. Pull off the road, pop the hood and noticed that the exhaust manifold had a lite glow to it, i pulled the dip stick to check the oil and smoke came from the dip stick tube and the stick was dry. I tried to start it and the starter was stanning. I call me dad to pick me up, he had 2 quarts of oil in his truck. I put them in the car and tried to start it again. It started and idie's smooth and runs like a champ, UNTIL you rev it. When you get on the gas it knocks it ass off like a idieing diesel. But at idie its perfect. The noise is coming from the top end. I pulled the valve cover and the rockers are fine and the push rods were pumping oil, so the oil pump is working. So what is causing the knock? And also where is my oil going. It doesnt leak or smoke. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it might be my cat but im not sure. I was going to cut the exhaust and see if it runs better. Wayne</font> |
