85 century water pump

hey everybody I'm new to the forum. I created this account because I'm trying to replace the water pump on my 1985 buick century 3.0 liter. I cannot figure out how to get the damn thing off! Anybody worked on one before?

I've never worked on a Buick older than like 94 so I don't know if my advise will help. But if the engine and it's arrangements didn't change that much in 10 years -might have- then my experience might help.
You have to take the drive belt off to get to the pump.
I take pics of everything before I do anything to a vehicle as reference so I put it back the way I found it.
Once you've taken off the drive belt and all the buddies that go with it, you can start to take out the bolts and the water pump follows. Just make sure to clean off the old gasket sealant from the rim so it's nice and clean. *That goes for any year car*
Then just align the new one and put it in. Use the pics you took to reinstall the belt if you haven't done it a lot. I know I haven't.
One thing I would say to be sure of is that your car is cool.
Also it's a good idea to flush out your coolant. I don't know if you have to but it seems like the best idea for it to run best.

**As I said before, I don't know if this is the right location for your 85 century model. I hope it is so you can do it yourself and not have to take it to a shop or something.**

Hope this helped some. :]
