I have a 2001 Buick Century 3.8l V-6, 152,000 miles ( highway ): At times engine reves to a high RPM and will not drop when the brake is applied. I have to pull the vehicle over, put it in park and turn off the engine, let it cool down, re-start it and it runsfine. Today it was holding the RPM's until the engine cooled down. The Catalytic convertor was replaced two months back, probably the wrong size. I have been told alot of things to to see if they are the problem.I thought that with the information listed above someone mighthave had the same problem. |
Sounds like the throttle linkage area and mechanics... check it out with the engine off and someone throttling it slowly ..Perhaps it gets stuck.
Good Luck |
