2000 Buick Century bad motor mounts
I have a 2000 Buick Century that has the 3.1 3100 engine, I thought I was having tranny problems with the car but my mounts had a lot of play in them, what would happen is when you take off from a stop you would feel like a slip/jerk all gears shifted and changed correctly, it did not do it all the time as well, I replaced the dog bones mounts and the top rad support mounts, and the tranny mount on driver side, and I have not felt it as bad, I cannot figure how to change the motor mount on pass side, the mount is liquid filled! I have never seen that before is that pretty commom? thanks a bunch!

Thanks Bud, I got a Hayes Manual but it aint much help, it did not list the proceedure for changing out the Pass side motor mount that mounts under harmonic balancer in the frame, does anyone Have a factory service manual that shows how to do it? thank you!:)

Believe it involved(jack stands under rearward control arm) a piece of wood under the oil pan with one jack lifting after you undo the top passenger motor mount.
I have the W body Century Haynes 19010 what page did you look @ Page 2A-15 to 2A-16 for pics of the bolts. I can search for another How-To in a few mins. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They make non hydro ones. I can't 100% say they are the same as the 3400, 3500, and 3800. When the time comes I will go to the solid one and poly the uppers. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par..._195311_16129_ |
Yea, I think thats the same manual I have I might have a earlier one I dunno? I searched around and I cannot find the solid one the only ones the only one I can find is the Anchor 2796 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/rafr...28-2796-111412
if you know where I can find the solid one please let me know I have checked all the parts stores, advance, autozone, oreilly, napa |
Were you able to find that part in the link above your post?
This is another one. Others confirmed it to be 60 and 90 degree V6 universal. http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...ine-Mount.aspx The upper ones can be redone with these. These should be universal between 60 and 90 degree just debating if I want to go hardcore(red) http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...or-Mounts.aspx |
thanks for the link, it was lots of help! is the factory mount a liquid filled mount?
|
Yes it's filled. When they go, it's messy.
