Fuel Pump

Fuel Pump
I have a 2006 LaCrosse CX. I've heard that Buick has made an access cover (located in the trunk) for accessing the fuel pump. Anyone know if this is true? If so, this would be a big savings for the "do it your-selfers". Anyone have the instructions for doing a repair/replacement? Thanks for the help in advance.

Would be a stroke of Buick genius, I'd almost say yes to access hatch. Only other way is to drop fuel tank. Not to beat a dead horse but when again I owned my 'Lil Red Express Truck the fuel gauge went. Factory manual stated the gas tank had to come out to replace. Well this had oak floorboards in bed so took one out, sawed in two so the sections were on braces and there was the gas tank top and gauge exposed. Way easy and just put section of board back in for any future issues.

If you go to remove thwe tank , get as much gas out of it as you can ( weight ) .
I used a 2' x 2' piece of plywood between a floor jack and the bottom of the tank . This distributed the weight and prevented messing up the bottom of the tank . Also allowed me to lower the tank in a controlled manner .
Did this on a 1991 Caprice & 1996 Lumina .
God bless
