Default 231 rebuild or 252 swap?

I have a 1971 jeep cj6 with a Buick 231, I think it's an odd fire, and a turbo 350. It originally had the 225 v6. The current motor burns a lot of oil and when I changed the crank seals I checked the main bearings and they were pretty rough. I have heard that the 252 will bolt up to my tranny, if so will the timing cover, valve covers and brackets swap over if I buy a long block? More power is always good. Or should I just get another 231? I have found long blocks for as much as machine shops charge so I'm leaning towards buying a rebuilt motor and not having the down time, or worrying about the shop telling me my block is bad and having to pay for that and still buy another motor. I would like to stick with a v6 so I can re-use my headers, radiator and keep the price down. I am in San Diego if anyone has any leads on a motor or a good machine shop. Thanks.
