Just picked up this 65 Special Convertible on Craigslist from a local man who won it in a raffle in 1998, and has had it ever since. Says it quit running 3 years ago due to fuel problems due to sporadic use. Looks like it was painted this red years ago (likely by the dealer that held the raffle) from its original code A black. The amazing thing about this car is that with the exception of 2 tiny spots on the lower rear front fender (the size of a pencil eraser) and some rot under the battery the car is mostly rust free. Yes, trunk, quarters, all good. Being it was painted almost 20 years ago, if there was any bondo, it would have revealed itself.
I am currently restoring a 67 Olds Cutlass Conv, and have plenty of leftover parts that should get this Buick running soon (carb, tank, etc.)
My plan is to get it operational for now and drive it until the Olds is done.
