Default New Clue to Check Engine Light Being On?

Greetings. I have had many posts concerning my check engine light being on in my 1995 Buick LeSabre. In the beginning, the light was on but the difference in the driving between when it is off and when it is on is not that significant but none the less, it is there and it isn't right, so I keep pursuing an answer. Recently following the advice of a tech, I found that the connector going to the cam sensor was not completely seated and I corrected that and now I am back to the beginning where the light is on but the car rides pretty good but the light is on. Last night, March 17, 2016, on the way home from a errand and traveling on the interstate about 11:00 p.m. I ran into a period of my headlights dimming and coming back to normal several times until I was almost home and it didn't do it anymore. Anybody got an idea if that has anything to do with my check engine light problem.
