97 Lesabre Junk or Fixer?
Hi guys,
I am in search of an answer. I currently drive a 1997 Le Sabre. I love it. But, it has 175,000 miles on it, and it currently needs around $8,000 dollars of work on the body. Several body shops have suggested its not worth the money to invest in it, and many have told me that it would be better to scrap it.
As the car stands, I probably wouldn't get more than $1500 for it. But, I can't help but wonder if there isn't any cultural value attached to the car. In my opinion its a beautiful car. Even with the dents and dings, it feels fantastic to drive, and if I could, I would keep it forever. I'd love to restore it to its former glory. I wanted to get the opinion of a true Buick enthusiast before I succumbed to practicality. Can anyone help?
