3800 series III performance
Hello all.
I just recently bought an 08 Lacrosse, and I this is my first 3800. I would like to add a little more "zip" to its performance. I was looking at the ZZ Performance coils and their 10.5 mm wires. Has anyone tried this? Also I was thinking about a cold air intake, but I cant find one for the Lacrosse. Would a kit from another car/yr. work?
Any ideas would be much appreciated!

We recently bought a 2006 Lacrosse 3.8l . Did not buy it for performance , bought it for comfort . Do not think I have ever given it Wide Open Throttle - WOT .
According to how the electronics are programed , you may or may not get a little better performance withe premium fuel .
I will bet there is a knock sensor . It is common for the electronics to vary the spark timing to avoid knock . So , with higher octane fuel , it may give the engine more spark advance .
As for me , if I made any modifications , it would be aimed at economy .
God bless

Im not trying to hot rod it, I just do a lot of highway driving and not getting the mpg that I should be getting. A mechanic friend told me of some upgrades and thought I'd see if anyone had any other ideas.
Thanks for your input.

Fuel + air + spark = power
Instead of a cold air intake , a hot air intake is more likely to increase MPG . Increase tire air pressure . Etc .
