My car was driving normally when I began to brake. The engine coolant
gauge shot up and the warning light came on. The check engine light
came on and the car died. Once I got it home, it was smoking and I
discovered anti-freeze everywhere under the hood and this..........

That picture is upside down on the passenger side front, approximately
even with the sideview mirror. I assume that is not it's normal
location and it seems to be covered in anti-freeze as well.

Soundslike a heater hose has blown, although your pictures aren't coming up well on my computer.

Thats your Power steering cooler. And your heater hose has blown...

Should be a cheap fix.. in Texas.

now ur pics arent very helpful to narrowing it down, but by seeing the fuel filter, it looks like its the passenger side. 91 i believe is an (L) engine.(vewrify by checking 8th char in vin). there is a factory bypass that is plastic. dumb design. id check that. its a lil hose thats connected from the water pump to the intake manifold. the plastic htr fitting threads into the intake, and is common to just split in two.

id check that. its an easy fix thats it. like 5 bucks here in michigan. oh and might as well change the hose while in there.

Yes, I remember replacing that 'dumb design' on my '91. I guess they saved about a nickel by changing it from metal!
