Need general informations about Regal
#1
Hi all !
I am french, so I'm sorry for my imperfect english. I'm 24 years old, living in south of France. I love all old car (from any brands) and american car in general.
I'm going to buy a 1981' Regal with a V8 engine but i need more informations about this car. This car is originally powered by the V6 Turbo. The body style is, I think, a T Top (glass in two parts on the roof). The body and chassis look very good (no rust, just the paint is decolored and apply like a viking).
I try to find american (or canadian) site talking about car (mecanical reconditioning, etc...) but my searches keep in vain.
Thanks in advance to help me with any links about tech spec of this car !

Yeah !! I got it !!
The car is now in a friend's garage. I cleaned it only with sponge and soft detergent. I havn't got lot of time actually, so I can't work like i want...
I dont identified the engine type yet, but one thing is strange, the alternator and A/C compressor aren't at the usually placement on the block (my alternator is on the right side)....
I still tested the electric system with a new battery, and some equipment don't work correctly, so i think humidity or bad connections (humidity, corrosion).
But better than words, here some pics :
When I got it.... mmmm funny, isn't ?

From back :
The engine (don't be affraid !) :
Inside, look well for a 26 y.o car who are stocked long time outdoor :
And after a half-day of cleaning, look better :
And of course, for better work conditions :
Value Pack.... ehehehe
So, next step : unblock the engine, remove head cyl. and identify the type (305/350 SBC ??).
This is not a restoration, as you see it's a ressurection !!! In rust i trust.... thx Mister WD40
