View Full Version : Drive Belt Tensioner Pulley 1997 LeSabre PatVanHalen5150 06-03-2008, 09:30 PM Randomly decides to fall off when im driving on the highway today. Got it home via a tow truck and it was an easy fix. Anybody ever have the same problem? mdc27 06-15-2008, 01:12 AM Hi, from the sound of it the bearing has sized up and the pulley is loose. Please tell what your "easy fix" was. Surprized that the belt has not torn up. Same happened to mine (97 LaSabre). Had to replace the tensioner assembly. see previous posts from 8-1-07 and 8-9-07. PatVanHalen5150 06-15-2008, 01:23 PM The easy fix was that I didn''t have to replace the whole tensioner assembly, just the pulley itself. One bolt in the middle and correctly re-routing the belt. I told my mechanic and he said the bearing did indeed let go. Running good and strong now. |
