i have a 1996 buick regal grand sport. Looking for low intake port to hook up by can of refridgerant. I found two ports. One is on a thicker hose, the other is on a thinner hose. I thought the thinner one is the low intake. But the value on the can only hooks up to the thicker hose. Someone told me the thinner hose is the low intake port. Please confirm

thanks,

The thicker hose (coolant line) has the intake.. It can be confirmed if you have some refridgerant in it already.. its the cooler line when running.

... when the gas goes from high pressure to low, it expands, cools down and needs a larger line ..

Therefore you fill into the low pressure larger thicker line.

</span>Turn on your air to max cool, stick a thermometer in the vent and try for less than 50 degrees air as you add a half can at a time. With it showing at 50 parked will even get down even cooler driving.

If you add too much the cool line will start to show ice on it, freeze your evaporator with frost and clog the air system.

If you plan to find the leak and have it fixed later you may try filling with some of the UV type that will show up under black light.
